Best cook...EVER!!!

Last Friday night we ordered pizza for dinner just like we do every Friday night. Usually Jimmy does this, but he was working late so I had to do it. Briar saw the delivery guy and watched me carry the pizza into the kitchen and cut up a slice for her. She started eating and said, "Mom, you're my favoritest cook!" I asked her if she thought I cooked the pizza and she said, "yes." Then she said, "Deeeee-licious!"

Another night recently she wanted some applesauce for a snack while I was cooking dinner. She likes her applesauce warm with cinnamon. As she ate her applesauce she said, "You're the best cook...EVER!" She paused for a second and said, "You're better than you used to be." I could not contain myself....I was wondering how does a 2 1/2 year old come up with such a thing?!?! And to be quite honest....it's true. I wasn't a bad cook, but I never cooked a lot until I started staying home during the week. Briar usually says something that shocks me like that about once a day. She's either totally surprising me or just melting my heart with the words that come out of her mouth.

The Attention-Defecit in Me

I feel like I have already stopped blogging as soon as I began. I am seriously the worst at starting something and following through. I tried a lot of different activities as a child and nothing stuck. I've started scrapbooks and never finished. I did some sewing and was even good at it and stopped. I tried to knit...and you guessed it never continued or finished. I'm not sure why I do this. I guess it began when I was little and I have never conquered it. I also tend to start many things at one time. I can't focus enough on one task so I will work on one for awhile and then go on to something else. I just go around the house maybe putting away some clothes and not all then maybe empty the dishwasher but I don't put the dirty dishes in the empty dishwasher. It really stinks because even if I get a lot done in a day there may not be anything 100% completed so it doesn't appear that I have accomplished anything. I know when I'm doing this, and yet I can't stop. It's so compulsive. I suppose I should focus on several small tasks that will make the most impact on making the house look clean since it will always be less than perfect. There are those things that aren't immediately noticeable that you can only put off for so long though....like cleaning the fridge. Luckily I cleaned mine last week so now I can focus on some of those everyday chores.

E-Bay

Today I spent a large amount of time searching for and bidding on items on E-bay. I was able to find some really cute girls clothes for Briar, all "NWT" (new with tags). Now I have to learn the rest of the E-bay lingo. It is so easy to bid on more and more items. It's easy to think you aren't spending very much money because you find a fantastic deal on something. You just click click click and all of a sudden.... Anyways, I'm hoping I don't win everything I bid on. Some auctions aren't ending for several more days and are worth far more than my $4.00 maximum bid. I thought Facebook was addictive, but it can't compare to E-bay shopping. Since I was very unproductive today, tomorrow I'll have to leave the computer OFF!

It's all in a name!

How does one choose a name for a blog? I could have chosen something simple but pertinent like "My Days with 2 Girls." While I will most likely share more about my adventures as a mother of a baby girl and a toddler girl than anything else, that does not encompass ME. I am blogging to really explore my thoughts. I guarantee there will be times when all I am doing is telling a story about how my day went or what I did, but that is not my goal as I begin to blog. So I put quite a bit of thought into naming my blog and even postponed blogging until I chose mine. "Two Step" is the name of a song by one of my favorite bands, Dave Matthews Band. I stay very busy but not too busy that I can't enjoy good music. For the past almost 3 years I haven't made music a part of my life the way it once was. So here I sit listening to an old favorite as I share the lyrics of "Two Step" with you. Maybe you'll even want to hear the song.......

Say, my love, I came to you with best intentions
You laid down and gave to me just what I'm seeking

Love, you drive me to distraction
Hey my love do you believe that we might last a thousand years
Or more if not for this,
Our flesh and blood
It ties you and me right up
Tie me down

Celebrate we will
Because life is short but sweet for certain
We're climbing two by two
To be sure these days continue
These things we cannot change

Hey, my love, you came to me like wine comes to this mouth
Grown tired of water all the time
You quench my heart and you quench my mind

Celebrate we will
Because life is short but
Sweet for certain
We're climbing two by two
To be sure these days continue
The things we cannot
Celebrate, you and me, climbing two by two, to be sure
These days continue, things we cannot change

Oh, my love I came to you
With best intentions
You laid down and gave to me
Just what I'm seeking

Celebrate we will
Because life is short
But sweet for certain
We're climbing two by two
To be sure these days continue
Things we cannot change...
Things we cannot change
